The next meeting of the Bartlett CHARACTER COUNTS!  Coalition will be in April 2010 at a location to be determined later.
 
Township Toy Drive
Hanover Township holds its annual Toy and Book Drive to benefit the needy.  Collection bins will be placed at the Community Center, Library and Village Hall.  New and unwrapped toys and books may be donated.
 
Victorian Yule Time with the Lincolns
The Bartlett History Museum concludes its bicentennial celebration of Abraham Lincoln’s birth with a special program at the Village Hall on Wednesday, December 2, at 7:00 pm.  President and Mrs. Lincoln will talk about some of the Christmas traditions that originated during the Civil War.  The Bartlett International Chorus will also perform songs of the season.  Space is limited and registration is required for this free program.  Contact the History Museum at 630-837-0800 to make a reservation.
 
Christmas Tree Lighting
The Bartlett Chamber of Commerce holds its annual Christmas tree lighting celebration on Friday, December 4.  The ceremony takes place in Bartlett Park at 6:00 pm.  Santa will visit the Log Cabin between 5:00 and 6:00 pm.  The Bartlett Woman’s Club also holds its Spaghetti Dinner from 4:30 until 8:00 pm at the Immanuel United Church of Christ at 415 W. North Avenue.  The price for dinner is $9.00 for adults and $5.00 for kids aged 3 – 11.  They will feature a Holiday Shoppe and a Bake Sale, too.
 
Holiday Splendor
The Chamber holds a Holiday Splendor Special Event on Friday, December 4, from 10:00 am until 9:00 pm and on Saturday, December 5, from 10:00 am until 5:00 pm.  The Downtown Business District will open its doors to shoppers and offer special promotions.  Hanover Township will provide free bus transportation around town, with stops near 14 businesses.  Arts in Bartlett will hold special activities in its Center for the Arts at 117 W. Railroad Avenue.  On Friday night from 7:00 until 9:00 there will be wine tasting, appetizers, and carols by the International Chorus.  On Saturday from 10:00 until 2:00 pm there will be a Holiday Card Making Workshop, followed by Wine Tasting and Appetizers from 3:00 until 5:00 pm.  Get in the caring holiday spirit and show your citizenship by supporting Bartlett businesses.

 

 


Holiday Celebration
Arts in Bartlett invites everyone to its annual Holiday Celebration on Thursday, December 17, from 6:00 until 9:00 pm.  The event takes place at the Oak Room of the Bartlett Community Center, located at 700 South Bartlett Road.  Appetizers and a cash bar will be featured, and  attendees are invited to bring a dessert to share.  Please RSVP to artsinbartlett@comcast.net or call 630-372-4152.
